Police: Eviction Attempt Gets Physical

Three people were arrested after Hinesville police say one of them physically accosted a woman serving an eviction notice.

Police: Hinesville Men Robbed, Beaten

Hinesville police say two men were accosted by a group of robbers who held them at gunpoint, forced them to strip and kicked them before making off with their valuables.

Hinesville police say two men held a teenager at gunpoint, searched him for cash and stole his cell phone.

Fort Stewart, Local Community Team Up for Health Expo

Health teams from Fort Stewart, Liberty Regional Medical Center, and the Liberty and Long County health departments are partnering to host a health event featuring games, educational booths, health screenings and more.

Health teams from Fort Stewart, Liberty Regional Medical Center, and the Liberty and Long County health departments are partnering to host a health expo at the Shuman Recreation Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 1. According to a press release from Winn Army Community Hospital, th upcoming Community Health Expo "will provide educational and interventional services regarding health care concerns." The event kicks off with a 3K run/walk, followed by a day of health care education and activities. Participants can receive glucose, cholesterol and blood pressure screenings and schedule mammograms. The event will feature games, educational booths, car seat safety checks, Zumba and Tai Chi sessions, a blood drive and more. Kids will have fun at …

Relay for Life Walks to Fight Cancer

Liberty County's Relay for Life event raised more than $118,000 for the fight against cancer.

Fundraising teams came out in force May 17 for Liberty County's annual Relay for Life. Relay for Life is a national fundraising event, the proceeds of which go to combat cancer. Relay teams participate in an overnight fundraising walk all night, while food, games and entertainment build team spirit. This year's event, held at the Liberty County Recreation Department, raised more than $118,000 for the fight against cancer, according to the American Cancer Society website. A Hinesville woman told police that she discovered her husband had already been married for 10 years when they wed.
