New restaurants are slated to open next year in the locations of the former Juan's Mexicali and Shoney's.
Plans are in the works to open new restaurants in Hinesville, according to various media reports. Panera Bread will open a location on the site of the long-vacant Shoney's on East Oglethorpe Highway, according to a Coastal Courier report. Wing Stop, a chicken franchise, will open in the old Juan's Mexicali location on General Screven Way. Both franchises will be owned by Richard Connolly of Hilton Head, S.C. Connolly, already the owner of 13 Panera Bread locations in Georgia and South Carolina, has signed a multi-unit franchise deal with Wing Stop that also includes Savannah, Pooler and other locations in the region, according to Restaurant Magazine. The Hinesville Wing Stop is slated to open in February, depending on construction progress…
