A U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter crashed Thursday in Afghanistan, according to a Huffington Post report. According to initial reports, as many as four soldiers may have been killed.
According to Mohammad Qayum Gorbaki, chief of Afghanistan's Garmsir district, the helicopter was en route to investigate a suicide bombing in his area. He said bad weather caused the crash, the Huffington Post reported.
The American military released a brief statement confirming a crash, but the statement did not confirm any casualties or specify the nationality of those on board the helicopter. According to the statement, the cause of the crash is unknown.
