More About City Hall of Richmond Hill
Nestled in an area settled by English-speaking peoples around 1792, with a Native-American history stretching back centuries before that, Richmond Hill was originally known as Ways Station. In the 1920s, however, auto tycoon Henry Ford built a summer home here and set about boosting the sagging local economy. In 1941, the city was renamed Richmond Hill in honor of Ford's summer home.
