What Are You Looking for in the Vice Presidential Debate?

Vice Presidential debates historically are not believed to make much of a difference. Do you expect this year to be any different?

As the hype over the first presidential debate continues, attention turns to the vice presidential debate coming up on Thursday in Danville, Ky. Again the expectations game begins with Republicans cautioning people not to expect too much after Gov. Mitt Romney’s stellar performance last week.

A story in The Huffington Post looks at the match up between the two candidates, Vice President Joe Biden and Congressman Paul Ryan, and gives an opinion on what people might expect. The Huffington Post is categorizing Biden’s position as one that is “playing defense” following President Barack Obama’s “passive” performance last week. Many other media sites are weighing in, as was the case with the first presidential debate, but "caution" appears to be the name of the game. Although Ryan is hailed as being "smart," and Binden has earned a reputation for himself as being "the gaffe-master," people are being reminded of Biden's vast experience and ability to connect with regular folks.

What do you expect to see from the vice presidential candidates during the debate and how important do you think it even is to the overall presidential race?

I hope Biden will have his foot in his mouth as he always does. Would love to hear all about that Trillion dollar tax increase he promised.

No. This debate isn't important to the election. Obama's minions had their minds made up a long time ago.

would love to hear Biden respond to questions on the Lybia debacle. How about that false claim of a demonstration against a video that got out of hand.

Can't wait for Ryan to reveal himself again as the Pharisee he is. What happened to:
Mathew 25:40 'Truly I say to YOU, To the extent that YOU did it to one of the least of these my brothers, YOU did it to me.'
Proverbs 14:31 'He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.' I'm one of the 47% and I know fakery when I see it. I know selfishness when I see it. And I see it in Ryan and Romney.
In Mathew when Jesus said: 'Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit' he was describing Pharisees just like these two.

How is it the government's responsibility to help those in need? It should be the choice of the individual to help those in need. If you take the decision(free will) away from the individual, then how is that individual supposed to become a better person and to grow spiritually?

The more the government takes away from people, the less people will choose to give and the less that will be received due to the inefficiencies of government.

It is amazing how many people on this board claim to have faith in God, but all they really seem to put their faith in is Government which continue to try and remove God from the U.S. I put my faith in God and pray that he will guide everyone(rich, poor, powerful, weak, healthy, sick, etc...) to follow in his path..

There is no defense of this administration. From Fast and Furious, to campaign contribution violations, to the lies told about the completely inept defense of our Ambassador, to the bailout of the UAW, the unemployment rate, the pitiful job creation rate, the enormous deficit spending, record numbers on food stamps and disability, obamacare, and two credit downgrades. How will Biden defend all these things? Poorly.

Sharon and William, it's news today. the administration is being called out big time. While playing in hollywood, our people died in benghazi. I can find scripture for that too. In fact, he knew they needed help and did nothing.

Actually, they didn't ask- they begged. And his own words when we had a week of people from other countries here to discuss matters pertaining to foreign affairs, he said he was "busy" (translate: I'm going on tv to tell people about how I'm "eye-candy").
