Pulitzer Awarded to Patch Sister Site for Wounded Veterans Coverage
David Wood, of the Huffington Post, was awarded the Pulitzer Prize Monday for "Beyond the Battlefield." The 10-part series was featured on Fort Stewart Patch last fall.
Huffington Post senior military correspondent David Wood was awarded journalism's coveted Pulitzer Prize Monday for his coverage of severly wounded veterans and their families.
Fort Stewart Patch picked up the 10-part series, "Beyond the Battlefield," in October. It explored facets of recovery ranging from a severely scarred Army veteran who performs comedy to the challenges the military and Department of Veterans Affairs have to keep up with the amount of injured service members.
