The Beginning of a Family Tradition
Believe it or not attached is my favorite ornament. It is the first ornament my parents ever bought me when I was born in May 1972. My parents thought it would be a nice tradition to buy a new ornament for me and my brother each year to add to the tree. The ornaments typically related to what we were interested in at the time and so now I have years of ornaments that help me remember things that were important to me through the years. I have baby ornaments, sports ornaments, one for my sports car, ornaments from special trips and more. This has been such a special tradition for our family that we have passed it along with our boys who each enjoy remembering what they liked over the past several years when we pull the ornaments out at Christmas time each year. It is so funny to hear them say, "That one is yours, I never liked that" and then watch them flip it over and see their own name with the date on the back.
