Around 100 supporters turned out for Saturday's Butterfly Release of Hope event at Britt HotRodz Motorcycles to honor Fort Bragg's missing soldier, Kelli Bordeaux.

Oliva Cox, from Fort Stewart, Ga., shared that Kelli and Mike had butterflies released at their wedding and that when one landed on Kelli's hip that joyous day, she told her Olivia that it meant good luck.

The 50 painted lady butterflies, donated by Cloverlawn Butterflies in Orlando, Fl., were released from a decorative box by Oliva, and Kelli's family released theirs from blue wrapped envelopes to signify hope wherever Kelli may be.

Mike Bordeaux, Kelli's husband, was visibly emotional as he thanked the crowd of supporters, wiping away a tear as he prepared to release his butterfly. Mike slowly opened up his blue envelope as his orange and brown butterfly took flight, not taking his eyes off of it as it fluttered away, up into the cloud filled blue sky.

The Patriot Guard riders escorted Kelli's family to the event Saturday morning.

"It is amazing to have so many people that want to help my family find Kelli," said Olivia. "It helps to give my family hope that we will find something to bring Kelli home."

JD Tew, local pastor of Fayetteville's Freedom Biker Church opened up the event with a prayer for Kelli and her family to remain steadfast in the hope that Christ provides and that the truth would be revealed.

Presentations were made to Kelli's sister that included custom made jewelry and a card signed by many in the community and the staff at HotRodz Motorcycles.

"I feel like Fayetteville Police Department is doing as much as they can at this time. They have kept my family informed as much as possible,"said Olivia to the Fort Bragg Patch. "There is no closure for my family until Kelli comes home."
