The U.S. Army Medical Department Activity Fort Stewart will celebrate the relocation of Marne Behavioral Health with an open house scheduled for Feb. 13 from 1-3 p.m.
Employees of the newly-relocated facility provide behavioral health services to Third Infantry Division soldiers currently assigned to the 1st and 2nd Brigade Combat Teams. Formerly located in bldg 816, the new location will provide easier access and more space to the soldiers who utilize its services.
"The main reason we moved locations is to be closer to the brigades," said Maj. Allen Fields, the officer in charge of Marne Behavioral Health. "The end goal is to be embedded within the 1st and 2nd brigade combat team footprints, which we anticipate happening later this year."
The Marne Behavioral Health staff is composed of: psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed clinical social workers and psychological technicians. Nurse case managers and licensed practical nurses manage the high-risk program, provide case management services and offer therapeutic support.
The new facility is located in Bldg. 206 on Harmon Avenue, Fort Stewart.
The event is open to the public.
