Gallery Reception, Art Fair on Tap for Hospice Savannah

Art Gallery Reception

Please stop by our Art Gallery on Thursday between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. to have a glass of wine, meet artist Elsie Taliaferro Hill and see her work! Elsie was raised in Savannah and holds a bachelor of fine arts in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design and a master of fine arts from Columbia University School of the Arts, New York, N.Y. The compositions of her colorful, somewhat abstracted paintings are influenced by collage, Japanese printmaking, fables, and environmental issues.

Elsie's work will hang through the end of April and, as always, a portion of any sales will benefit Hospice Savannah.

What's a fidget blanket?

Warm thanks to the Women on Mission of First Baptist Church of Blichton for donating 18 beautifully handcrafted fidget blankets to our homecare patients. Fidget blankets are small lap blankets filled with various textures of fabrics, zippers, buttons, sponges, etc. that seem to busy the hands and help soothe and quiet the minds of our patients who have dementia or Alzheimer's disease.

We are also grateful to the Helping Hands Ministry of South Thompson Primitive Baptist Church of Lyons, GA who have made fidget blankets for our Hospice House patients for several years.
